Jamaica Inn is set amongst some of the most beautiful scenery in Cornwall. High on Bodmin Moor and is situated in a wonderful wild bit of the county. There are the most beautiful walks all around the inn with lakes and famous historical reminants of days gone by.
A basic hike is from Codda Ford just north of Jamaica Inn (as shown above), up Leskernick Hill and onto Buttern Hill before turning west for Brown Willy. Then over Cornwall's highest peak to return across Catshole Downs. The walk is roughly 6 miles.
A gentle amble for the family is straight across from the Inn to Dozmary Pool "Excalibur"~ Lady of the lake. A mere 1 1/2 miles of country lanes and then pathway. To this beautiful pool. Ideal for picnics and we can happily make one up for you!
We welcome dogs in our Smugglers bar, the museum and we even have some deluxe en-suite bedrooms where you can request a dog bed and bowl for your room. Not forgetting the doggy treat at the bar on arrival!
