This Easter Sunday 12 April we have a Children's Easter Egg Hunt at 2pm as well as a colouring competition 11am to 4pm.  Our Carvery lunch will be available 12 - 3pm (booking recommended).  

On Easter Monday children's entertainer Magic Martin is visiting us at 2pm and there will be Face Painting 12 - 4pm.

We are delighted to see Daphne du Maurier's 'Jamaica Inn' is one of the nation's top 50 books in a recent survey for eBay UK.  Delighted, but not surprised: it is after all a cracking story by a master storyteller!

Hope we all got the Dozmary Pool question right on 'Brain of Britain' last week!  It's said to be the final resting place of what?  Dozmary Pool is only about 2.5km away, due south of Jamaica Inn - our local legendary landmark is also a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

Jamaica Inn has been presented with a Civic Award by Chairman of Cornwall Council, Mary May, at an official ceremony on 1 May for providing refuge to over a 100 motorists stranded in the snow on the A30 that dreadful night of the snowstorm that hit Cornwall on 31 January.  All bedrooms quickly became full but motorists continued to make for the Inn most of the night and were accommodated...

On Wednesday night (17 April) the Inn again came to the rescue, this time with countless mugs of tea and the use of its car-park!  Many fire engines of various sizes descended on the Inn to use it as a Command Centre in fighting several different nearby moorland fires.
